MEET "DD"

""My over the top passion and strong desire to connect with my peers and younger generation facing similar disadvantages will always be my driving force. It's because it comes from a genuine place and I literally cry about it. I believe that AYNONE who has the right teachings, influence, environment and mindset is far more likely to do better in life than those who do not. So rather I'm at a middle school speaking to adolescents or a university speaking to young adults, my intent is the same; If  you want better, DO BETTER. By the grace of The Most High (God),it will always start and end with you. Everyone has a different way of seeing life. It's my job to help them understand that there is nothing in between them and the goal BUT THEIR OWN DOUBT. As long as there's a way, it starts with you. This is called a ruling class mentality. So don't waste time letting family, friends, peers, strangers or society tell you otherwise. Think about it; it's better to come up "short" trying to achieve something magnificent than to not even try at all. Because, this way you still win. So bet on yourself 100% of the time.

2021 Little Rock Nine Scholarship Recipient

“I gladly accept the Little Rock Nine scholarship at a moment when I have decided to pursue a concurrent master’s program in both public service and social work,” Jordan said. “This comes just two years after sharing my story of being a homeless student, with the intent to invoke inspiration and courage in others.”

“While I can never compare to nor understand the magnitude of controversy and adversity the Little Rock Nine faced so many years ago, I can say that I am forever grateful, inspired, and honored to not only know of the miraculous story and the courageous individuals involved, but to now be a recipient of the scholarship that represents just that: courage and inspiration,” Jordan said. “Someone once said that courage isn’t not being afraid to do something, courage is being afraid and doing it anyways. The Little Rock Nine’s impact have been and will forever be the true definition of public service. Thank you.”
